Welcome to Backyardslam.com (the “Website”), operated by Uprise Events (“we,” “us,” or “our”), based in Shippensburg, PA. By accessing or using this Website or participating in the “3v3 Backyard Slam” basketball tournament (the “Tournament”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website or register for the Tournament.

3. Tournament Information

1. Tournament Name: 3v3 Backyard Slam

2. Date & Venue: Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Hopewell Township Park, 218 Shippensburg Road, Newburg, PA 17240.

3. Team Composition: Each team must consist of 3 players.

4. Registration:

• Method: Participants must sign up via our online registration form on the Website prior to the start of the event.

• Fee: $150 per team, payable by credit card (processed through Squarespace).

• No Refunds: All registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

5. Age/Eligibility Requirements: There are no specific age restrictions; however, minors must obtain parental/guardian consent if applicable.

4. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that basketball is a physically demanding sport that involves inherent risks, including but not limited to collisions, falls, and contact with other players or equipment. By participating in the Tournament, you voluntarily assume all risks of injury, harm, or loss and agree that Uprise Events is not liable for any injuries or damages related to your participation.

6. Code of Conduct

1. Sportsmanship: All participants must conduct themselves with respect and courtesy toward teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators.

2. Prohibited Behavior: Fighting, verbal abuse, or harassment of any kind may result in immediate disqualification.

3. Referee Authority: The decisions of referees are final and not subject to dispute on or off the court.

7. Prizes

If prizes are offered, the details of any prizes will be published on the Website or announced at the Tournament. Uprise Events reserves the right to withhold or revoke prizes from teams or players found to be in violation of these Terms or any Tournament rules.

8. Limitation of Liability

1. No Liability for Injuries: Under no circumstances shall Uprise Events, its employees, agents, or sponsors be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to participation in the Tournament.

2. Website Availability: We do not guarantee that the Website will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for any losses, data corruption, or damages resulting from the use of the Website.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Uprise Events, its organizers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your participation in the Tournament, breach of these Terms, or violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

10. Intellectual Property

1. Ownership: All content, materials, and intellectual property on the Website (including text, graphics, logos, and images) are owned by or licensed to Uprise Events.

2. Restrictions: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on this Website without prior written permission from Uprise Events.

11. Media Release

By participating in the Tournament, you grant Uprise Events the right to capture and use your image, likeness, and/or voice in any photos, videos, or recordings taken during the Tournament. You agree that such media may be used by Uprise Events for promotional, commercial, or marketing purposes, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further compensation or permission.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located in or nearest to Shippensburg, PA, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in these courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Website with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Website or participation in the Tournament after any such modifications shall constitute your acknowledgment of the modified Terms and your agreement to abide by them.
